Ready to have this baby!

I went to the Dr. today and we set the date to have baby Addison! Unless mother nature kicks in sooner (which feels very possible) Miss Addison will be born on Tuesday, March 11th. I know some people don't like the idea of inducing labor but I'm here to tell you that, for me, it is nice to have a plan, that and I seem to have lost three pounds since my appointment last week which isn't too uncommon but it worries me a little so the sooner she gets here the better! It makes me feel comfortable and prepared and I'm happy to know ahead of time. No broken water in the grocery store, no waiting for my husband to rush home from work, no speeding the 30 minutes to the hospital, no birthing my baby in the backseat. I'm content to wake up on Tuesday morning, take a nice warm shower, shave my legs, dry & comb my hair, load up Michael Anne, call Grandmas & Grandpas, and calmly drive to the hospital where my room, looking out at Mt. Timpanogos, has been prearranged and the anesthesiologist is there waiting with epidural in hand. This may not be the a-la-natural way to go but it suits me fine and I'm pretty excited about it! I guess I figure the next 20 years will be a continual lesson in spontaneity, surprises, and anxieties in child rearing so why not start it out peacefully, for me anyways. However a child is born it is a wonderful event and I can't wait for our little Addison to join us! We'll let you know how things go and will post pictures as soon as we can.

Hooray! How exciting! It would be nice to know the day. I was just telling Jeff how I don't want to leave anything until the last minute - because I don't know when the last minute will be! I have to admit I too am totally stoked for my epidural - they were invented for a reason! Good luck with everything - we'll sure be thinking of you on the 11th!

Good luck with the baby! I tried to make a comment saying glad the white boards did not hurt you more than they did but the blog was being funny. Anyhow, hope the birth goes as planned for you, but remember, birth is still unpredictable. I am a natural childbirth person myself but it is a very personal decision. I hope you and baby will be both be very health! --Ann

Thanks,
One little twist in the "plan" already is that Michael Anne and I are both sick! Arggg...we've got colds so unless we are better by Friday I think I may call the hospital and cancel the induction. I really want Michael to be there and she's pretty excited about seeing her baby sister born but I definitely don't want to get her sick right off the bat, or right out of the gate so to speak!
We're feeling a bit better today but we'll need a few more days to fully get well.

Hey Julie,
Your mom told me about your whiteboard accident. That is terrible. I hope you're all healed up from that! Good luck with the induction. I've never been induced. For some reason that seems way scarier to me than natural. :)

Going natural does have its perks--the mind-body-spirit connection and feeling of empowerment are unlike anything you'll ever experience. But beware--once you experience it, you'll never want to go the medical route again! I'm excited for you to have a new baby in your home, so fresh from Heavenly Father. I love that! I hadn't realized it was so soon--the last two months have been a blur to me. We'll be thinking of you and I hope to call you before next week. :>)

You know I love you JP and I'm so happy that you've had such positive birthing experiences with your little ones but what you may not know is that those same perks you mention are part of a "medical" delivery too!!!
